Annual Review – Development Impact in Africa

It was a wonderful year for our project communities in Africa. Working with our partners on the ground and our affiliate communities here at home, we’ve achieved important results, Advancing Education, Investing in Livelihoods and Promoting Health.

We are grateful to the tremendous partners in Africa whose visions for their communities is truly inspiring. It is an honour and a pleasure to contribute to their efforts through our joint projects!

Please take the time to learn more about our partners and their communities here.

Annual Review – Financial Results

2018 was also a strong year for our Network financially. We were disappointed to see the end to our internship program through the ICAD Consortium, funded by Global Affairs Canada. However, we continued to enjoy increased support from our Canadian donors.

We are proud to be able to commit 75%+ of all funds raised towards our projects and partnerships. With the addition of two new affiliate communities at the end of 2018, we are confident that we will improve upon this ratio in the coming years.

Our Network model is now fully self-sustaining, generating a third consecutive operating surplus. These funds make up our reserve fund, designated to responding to risks and opportunities as they arise and ensuring the organization has funds set aside to cover all fiduciary obligations. Moving forward, operational surpluses will be available for reinvestment in current projects per internal policy.

Thank you to everyone who made the work of our Network possible this past year – the leadership of our affiliate communities, our funders and donors and the countless volunteers who contributed to special events.
