By working together as a Network, we are increasing collective impact, advancing needed community-led development projects and building solidarity for a more equitable, healthy and sustainable future.
CAP Network projects in Africa are implemented side-by-side with our local community-based partners and are made possible primarily through the engagement and fundraising efforts of our Canadian Affiliate Communities.
Partnerships between Canadian and African communities in the CAP Network leverage resources and knowledge towards sustainable development and social change goals. Community based organizations in Africa lead the way with Canadian communities raising awareness and funds for initiatives implemented through our African Project Partners.
Working along side our Project Partners, we focus our capacity building efforts and provide resources through five priority areas which, together, contribute to achievement of gender equality, poverty reduction and sustainable communities.
Priority Impact Areas

We are working collaboratively to improve access to education for orphaned and vulnerable children and youth. We are supporting school school fees, holiday learning camps and secondary school supports, providing vocational training for older youth, as well as scholarship programs for refugee students.

We are building on local foundations to increase responsiveness and impact, including good governance and project management. We are developing appropriate systems and tools to support project work, providing training, mentorship, and continuous means for networking, peer-learning, and engagement.

We are also coordinating self-employment skills development activities for caregivers and youth, providing start-up financing for their new businesses. We secure new incomes, we facilitate life skills training so families can budget, manage changes that come their way and plan effectively for their futures.

We are providing bicycles to organizations and entrepreneurs to expand and strengthen their outreach and access to servvices and makrkets. We procure locally and provide basic repair kit and training on bicycle maintenance to ensure that they are a sustainable resources for our partners and their communities.
